Today, Lawman Guitars is Presenting...
A Super Cool and very RARE 1963 Harmony H-19 Sillouette with 2 Awesome Goldfoil DeArmond Moustache Pickups. Original Redburst with the original Bridge and a very odd Prototype tailpiece, (more about that later), .... AND the original Harmony Gray and white Soft Shell case, it is one really great guitar....Check out that case... beatup but..all latches, hinges, and handle are present and working only the accessory box is missing....see pics ....Wow...
We dated this cool guitar to 1963. See the pic of the dating on the underside of the pickguard.
I checked with all my Harmony, Silvertone, and Holiday Catalogs, checked with my Harmony experts, and we are baffled by this guitar. Its a 1963 H19 Sillouette..however, it has some very different appointments from the standard first year Sillouettes. Here we go..
1. Standard Body, neck and DeArmond Pickups
2. Holiday wood bridge vs the Hagstrom chrome bridge
3. A Hard Tail Tailpiece which Holiday Sillouettes had but that was the standard Bobcat Hard Tail. I have never seen this tailpiece. It is original to the guitar. No extra holes anywhere. Very strange.
4. Everything else is standard H19 to this guitar.
I am supposing that this guitar, dated to Sept 18, 1963 was a prototype. Pre Hagstrom Whammy's, pre Bobcat Whammys they used on the Silvertone Sillouettes, and not even the same tailpiece as a Holiday. What a RARE Guitar!! Try to find another. I have tried and if you find one...please let me know!
As you can see, this is not a closet classic Guitar...I love guitars that look like this..the wear means that someone played this guitar...a lot ..the guitar has many dings and scatches as you would expect from the age of this guitar. Some finish is flaked off on the lower bout cutaway..see pic 11. The pickguard has not shrunk and has one broken tip. We rerouted the pickguard to make it even..see pic 6...Even the Truss rod cover is still all there. Check those pics..
This guitar will blow you away with its Huge Tone...If you haven't experienced one of these be prepared to be blown away...These are Sleeper Guitars.....This Guitar is ready to go ....It is truly a magical guitar....It plays like a dream and it sounds even better......
Our Techs went over this one completely...New 10 gauge strings and we have it set up with awesome low easy playing action with great intonation up the entire 20 frets...It feels great! Fully bound neck on this one!
The action is low, has very super easy playing action, and the neck is very comfortable to play..You will not want to put his one down when you get it..its a blast to play...... Very Nice.....I have enjoyed playing it and know it will be a treasured guitar to who ever is lucky enough to score this cool Harmony guitar!
The guitar is used and vintage so it is sold as-is no returns..however, I have been hand picking guitars for my customers for over 20 years now and my customers love the guitars I find for them. This one will not be an exception.
Thanks for checking out our cool guitars...
