1966 Gibson LG-0 Mahogany Pro Setup Soft Shell Case
Out of stock
Today, Lawman Guitars is Presenting...
A beautiful and great sounding 1966 Gibson LG-O with original soft shell case.
We dated this guitar from the serial number stamped on the back of the headstock. According to Gibson, its either a 1966 or 1969..LOL...Given in 1969 the tops of LG-O's were spruce, we determined this one to be a 1966. All Mahogany top, back and sides on this one!
As you can see, this little guy has been around. Tons of finish crazing and some finish missing from the butt end and some player wear on the back of the neck. See pics. We cleaned it up a bunch and it now looks clean and very cool. Its no closet classic. This guitar has been played!
The bridge was replaced sometime in its life. It would have been held on by two screws thru the body. Quite a tone suck with those. When we got it, the bridge had been replaced but we had to add the bridge saddle. Frets are still in very good shape and it plays very nicely up and down the neck. Seems to have the same neck angle from the factory.
The guitar has a smaller body of 14 1/2 inches wide and 40 inches long. It was sold as a student model guitar but lots of players like these as they are not expensive as the LG-1's or LG-2's. Nice woody sound from the all mahogany body that is quite pleasant to the ear. Blues, slide and strumming sounds great on these.
Except for the bridge its all original. Truss rod cover, tuners, and even the original pickguard and nut are still on it. No numbers inside but again, stamped serial number on the back of the headstock for dating.
Comes with the shown vintage correct soft shell case that fits it great! A little road worn like the guitar but looks cool with this old timer!
Sold as is no returns as its vintage and used...however, I have been hand picking my customers instruments for over 20 years now. They all loved what I found them. This cool Gibson will certainly not be an exception.
Thanks for checking out our cool guitars.
