Today, Lawman Guitars is Presenting...
An awesome extremely RARE 1968 AIRLINE Western Model Flat Top Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar with original Softshell Case....
Be sure to check out the Video Demo we did for an Airline just like this one. Not the same guitar but same sound and features..
This guitar is super RARE...This is not the same Airline I sold a couple of months ago..That one is with its new owner who loved it...This one is just like it!
I have seen many Guitars just like this one with the National Logo on them, but this is only the second for me. I had never seen this guitar marketed as an Airline. Its the same model as the 1968 National Model 720 Western Flattop. The only difference I can see is the fancy National Fret Markers are Large Block Inlays on the Airline and the of course the Logo's. I also found the National has plainer tuners while the Airline has the Butterfly Buttons on the double line Kluson Tuners. Everything on this guitar is awesome and original including the case.
I had Jeff the Tech go over this guitar and set it up with awesome playing low action. No sore fingers with this one. The frets are in nice shape and the bridge shows no indication of pulling up. The Solid Spruce top is still nice and flat. The back and sides are Mahogany and its even X-braced. A very high quality guitar for back in the 1960's that wasn't a Gibson or Martin.
The sound of this guitar is fantastic. A very even voice that is quite loud and sounds more like my vintage Gibsons then Martins. Not too bassy and not thin at all. I love it.
The top show some finish crazing that speaks to its original thin Nitrocellouse Finish. The Mahogany back and sides are just beautifiul. Dings and scratches as expected on any 1960's guitar, but all superficial items. See pics of this beautiful guitar!
The case is in great shape as well. Nice beautiful Gold Plush interior and all the hinges and original handle are present and working properly. Only one latch is broken...
Its setup great to play right out of the box with new 12 gauge Phorphorus Bronze Strings. You will love this RARE Guitar! Made in the USA of course..These bolt on neck Airlines are great for setting up. Just a shim if needed to get the perfect neck angle. I love these easy to setup guitars!
It is sold as-is no returns as its vintage and used. However, I have been hand picking vintage guitars for my customers for over 16 years now and they have all loved theirs..This one will not be an exception...
Thanks for checking out my cool guitars.
