A beautiful Vintage 1970 Fender F-1030, made by Harmony, Solid Mahogany Grand Concert 000 Size, Acoustic Guitar, made in Chicago, USA!
A beautiful Vintage 1970 Fender F-1030 Made by Harmony like the much desired Harmony H-165 Solid Mahogany Grand Concert ... This was Harmony's answer to the Martin 000 Mahogany Model and is commonly referred to as the Poor Man's Martin. This model has been reissued as the Tim Armstrong Hellcat acoustic, but this is the original vintage model. They were only made in 1969 and 1970. They do not appear in any Fender Catalogs…
This cool Fender guitar was made with high quality solid Honduran Mahogany and it sounds wonderful. It features a non-bound solid mahogany top, back and sides, Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard and mustache pin bridge, fancy rosette with bound sound hole, original 1-3/4" nut, original 4 ply tortoise shell look pickguard, original Waverly tuners and endpin. It has a 25" scale neck, with a 15-1/4" wide lower bout, and adjustable truss rod. It has all of the great tone you would expect from a solid mahogany body, warm mids, plenty of projection and sustain. It has had a Professional neck reset for great low playing action… It has some additional scratches, dings and minor finish imperfections as you would expect for a guitar from the 1960’s…
Not a lot on information available on these cool guitars. They were jobbed out to Harmony for a budget line just before Fender went to Japan for its budget line. One of the last USA budget Fender guitars but what a great guitar Harmony built. They used the Malibu Pickguard shape for the cool 4 ply Tortise look pickguard and has an adjustable truss rod. No bellying on the bridge. The top is nice and flat! The original owner added a strap button to it and for some reason removed the small side dot fret markers. I’ll let the new owner decide if they want to install new ones.
The guitar ships in the shown original Soft Shell case which is the case Fender shipped the Malibu Fender guitars in … It has the original latches, hinges, and handle. Only the accessory box lid is missing..a really nice case for this vintage Fender guitar.
Really cool but used and vintage so its sold as-is no returns. However, I have been hand picking my customers instruments for close to 20 years now and they all loved the guitars I found them. This cool Harmony built Fender guitar will certainly not be an exception.
Thanks for checking out our cool guitars.
