Today, Lawman Guitars is Presenting...
A really cool and extremely hard to find, 1972 Gibson Firebird Limited Edition Medallion Model Guitar with an Original Gibson Deluxe Hard Shell Case. It looks awesome in Sunburst with the Chrome Hardware. Love the Lyre Maestro Whammy Tailpiece. Check those pics.
It plays and sounds great. Awesome low action that will not result in sore fingers...... The neck is nice as straight and the frets are in excellent shape. Check those pics!! The only thing not original is the pickguard. The previous owner put a newer Gibson Firebird guard on it ..The original was toast!
Heres what Reverb has to say about these cool Firebird V Models...
Gibson launched the Firebird design in 1963 with four main models: the Firebird I, II, V, and VII. Each was distinguished by different pickup and hardware configurations, though they all shared thru-body construction and a unique "reversed" body shape with a large lower horn. The Firebird V in specific used nickel-plated hardware, a deluxe vibrato tailpece, and two mini-humbucker pickups. By mid-1965, Gibson changed the Firebird (as well as its counterpart Thunderbird bass) to a more traditional "non-reversed" body shape. In 1972, however, Gibson reissued the original "non-reversed" Firebird V as a limited edition. These guitars had a limited edition medallion on the upper bout.

This cool guitar as I said is all original. Even the whammy bar is still with it! Banjo Tuners, Gibson Truss Rod Cover, Gibson embossed Mini Humbuckers, bridge, Lyre Tailpiece, Mahogony Body and Neck, Rosewood Fretboard, and knobs... this is some guitar! Dings and few bangs as expected on a guitar from the 1970’s that was played. Frets are in great shape! The guitar of course had a neck crack. Didn't they all? Hard to see from the excellent neck repair. Just below the lower tuner button.. Only a crack. The neck was not broken off... Check those pics!!
We had our Tech set it up with a new set of 10’s. It is playing great with excellent low action. An absolute pleasure to play!

Don’t forget the original Gibson Case… The original case from the 1970's didn't hold up. They weren't that great of cases... It was replaced in the 1980's with the shown Brown and Pink lining case... just as nice as the guitar. Both latches, handle and hinges are present and working great. The center locking latch is not working... No musty smells and the pink interior is in beautiful shape. The Pink satin shroud is in the accessory box... Great to have this case with this guitar.
Now this guitar is beautiful but vintage and used so its sold as-is no returns..however, I have been hand picking my customers guitars for over 20 years now. They all loved the instruments I found them…This cool Firebird will certainly not be an exception...
Thanks for checking out our cool guitars and gear.
