Today, Lawman Guitars is Presenting..
A beautiful and all original 1977 Carvin USA DC150 with the awesome 22 pole Humbuckers and Carvin Hard Shell Case.
This is the first Carvin we have had in the shop. I have to admit I was excited to check it out. I have wondered about these cool Carvin guitars forever and it’s the first I have gotten my hands on…
Its quite a guitar. I have to say, the first thing I noticed was the cool Humbucker pickups. I have never seen a pickup with so many pole pieces. And yes, you can adjust every one of them with an allen wrench..Not sure why you would do that, LOL…but you can. The guitar also came with the Carvin Maintenance and Operating Instruction Sheets. It shows how the mini switches work to go to Out of Phase and coil splitting... Very cool case candy! See pic 13...
We identified it as close as we could from the Curved Carvin Headstock logo, Cream pickup surrounds and the bridge tailpiece they used during that time period. It has a serial number between 5000 and 10,019 which also identified it as between 1970 and 1979.
The guitar has a few dings and scratches but in very good shape for its age. Its Eastern Rock Hard Maple with a neck thru design so its built to last. The neck is nice and straight and the truss rod system works great. The guitar is also Stereo. I was surprised to see the double input jack with the serial number on it. Like a Rickenbacker. I guess they liked that feature and used it on these. It has coil splitters and a ton of different pickup sounds. You won’t get bored with this guitar.
We had our Techs set it up with awesome playing low action. Plenty of room to raise or lower for your playing preference. The original frets still have plenty of life in them. The nut measures 1 11/16th inch and the neck has a 25 inch scale. The guitar weighs over 7 lbs. Its no light weight but well balanced.
It comes in the shown Carvin logo’d Deluxe Hard Shell Case. The case has been around but still in very good shape. The interior is very nice and the Tolex has some tears from use but no real damage. All latches, hinges and original handle are still with it. Great case for this cool guitar.
Cool but sold as-is no returns as its used and vintage, however, I have been hand picking my customers instruments for close to 20 years now and they all loved the guitars I found for them. This really cool Carvin will certainly not be an exception.
Thanks for checking out our cool guitars.
